Why is backing up your computer important?
Backing up your computer insures that if something fails you can still retrieve your data. Technicians have gone to many homes and found that most people think it happens by itself. It does not. Alternatively, they have a backup program that they think is backing up, that is not.
How we determine what and when to backup.
America’s always asks the client if your computer died and all data was lost where would that leave you. We also ask if you had a backup last month would that still be ok. Most people that is not acceptable to have a month old backup. That is why we setup daily differential to only backup data that has changed today, and we setup a full weekly backup. That insures all your data is safe.
Onsite or offsite backup?
We get this one question all the time. We recommend offsite backup for data you absolutely cannot live without. With the advent of cheap offsite storage you can easily store an upwards of 50+ gigabytes for cheap. If you have lots of data, onsite will be the cheapest way. You can get external hard drives that backup more that 1 terabyte that is equal to 1614 music cds on your hard drive.
